Living on my own in the Caribbean

I am now officially living on my own in St. Vincent. A week has past since I have moved out of my host families house into my own apartment. Such a great place. No oven or frig but I am hoping for the best. I even have a great gate and wall. This comes in handy when I need alone time to get work done. There is sugar cane growing in the back yard. I have been using my cutless to chop it up for the kids. It is very nice to finally have my own place.

Nothing new has really been going on. I am now working at the primary school in the morning till noon with four kids. The principle has asked for my assistance with helping some 6th graders out. I still need to put material together for those children.

My host grandmothers birthday is on Wend. She will be 93 years old. I am super excited. She is a lovely lady. I told her I would be bringing her ice-cream which was the only thing she really seemed interested in.

I am still adjusting to the heat although at times I forget that I am sweating. Hard to believe. Halloween was a great time. I went to Villa to stay with some Canadian volunteers. They have an amazing house right over looking the beach. Even a short walk to the beach which I did the next morning.

One of the volunteers dogs had puppies and then got hit by a car. I might be getting a puppy. I have never owned a puppy, which is making me very nervous. I rather have a dog that is older, but Vincentian dogs are not raised to be friendly. The best thing for me would raise my own.

All take care
